Forty years have passed since these classical works have been written, such as “Jamilia”, “Mother’s field”, “Early cranes”, “ MY maple in a red circhief” and “ A white ship”. Though life has changed, but kindness and hospitality of the shepherds who live on the bank of the Issyk-Kul lake, have remained the same. The footsteps of the mountains are covered with scarlet poppies and “mother deer” is still trying to hide unnoticed by people on the high alpine meadows, covered with edelvaises.
Like in ancient times, a she-wolf Ak-Bara protects her children and her friend Tash-Chainar brings food to her cave.
The White ship is still browsing the waters of Issyk-Kul lake. Country people, like Aitmatov’s heros are still asking the land to give good crops in autumn.
